Chris Bake’s journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of martial arts. A Darkside purple belt under the esteemed mentorship of Victor Pozas, with a lineage tracing back to the legendary Dean Lister, Chris has not only conquered the challenges of the mat but also overcome immense obstacles off it.

Prior to becoming the head instructor at Gotham City Jiu Jitsu, Chris served his country as a Tanker in the United States Army, demonstrating unwavering courage and sacrifice in the face of adversity. It was during his journey of rehabilitation for a traumatic brain injury, and PTSD that he discovered the transformative potential of martial arts, particularly BJJ.
